Ballymac CE CLG
Empowering People, Enhancing Communities
Ballymac CE CLG is a Community Employment Scheme established in 1993, serving communities across County Kerry. We assist people who are long-term unemployed to return to work through meaningful job placements, on-the-job training, and accredited courses.
The company was incorporated on 28th March 2004 and today operates across 18 project locations — from Brosna and Mountcollins through Firies, Farranfore and Currow, to Tralee and Blennerville. Our participants take on roles ranging from office administration and bookkeeping to maintenance, landscaping, tour guiding and care for the elderly.
We take pride in improving the communities we serve — maintaining GAA facilities, community halls, Tidy Towns projects, cemeteries, and heritage sites. We also provide essential support to local charities and care for isolated elderly residents across rural Kerry.
Ballymac CE CLG is sponsored by the Department of Social Protection, funded by the Irish Government.
Our Mission
The main objectives of Ballymac CE CLG are:
1. To provide interesting, meaningful work for participants on the Community Employment Scheme.
2. To extend and develop the skills of participants through on-the-job training and accredited courses, seriously increasing their employability.
3. To properly maintain and improve the facilities of the groups and clubs affiliated to the Company.
4. To ensure that work programmes — whether maintenance, care for the elderly, environmental works, or office work — are carried out as efficiently and effectively as possible.
5. To promote community spirit in the parishes of Ballymacelligott, Blennerville, Brosna, Currow, Firies, Farranfore, Knocknagoshel, Rathass, Recovery Haven, Tralee and Blennerville.
6. To promote our Scheme and everybody involved in it — participants, supervisory staff, sponsors and DSP — in the best possible light.
